Susan Jasko, Thomas Gencarelli of Montclair State University and Gary Radford, Editor of the NJCA Journal, energized by the day's events, were the nucleus whose result was the founding of the NJCA. All were recognized and credited for their efforts in getting the organization going.

Dr. Neil Postman, New York University, spoke to the conference. A power failure on the Montclair University campus necessitated moving outdoors. It was a beautiful day, however, and Dr. Postman's presentation was characteristically profound, amusing and thought-provoking.
